Analyis of the race

The winner aside, this was a modest contest but there was plenty to like about the way TAWAASSOL went about his business. He was a little keen on the way to post but was soon nicely settled in the race and was hacking all over his rivals from three furlongs out. Once sent to the front over a furlong out the race was over and he looks sure to add significantly to this victory.

Chanteuse Noire had finished last on her last visit to the course and ran infinitely better on her return in the first-time visor. She raced prominently from the start and took the lead three furlongs out, but was there only on sufferance. However, she was probably meeting a pretty decent rival and could win a little maiden before going into handicaps.

Great Belief is rated only 50 but ran a sound enough race as he led until readily outpaced in the closing stages. However, it was an encouraging effort and he could be of interest in modest company off his present mark.
