This looked quite trappy beforehand but was won in convincing fashion by RED EVIE who had little trouble following up her maiden sucess on the course 19 days earlier. The form had been let down by River Kirov at Warwick earlier in the afternoon but the Intikhab filly was soon travelling nicely towards the centre of the course and pulled clear when leading two out for a comfortable win. She could well complete the hat trick as she is progressing with experience.

Kaveri was soon bowling along onthe stands' rail and kept on under pressure when headed by the winner. She looks capable of winning in this sort of company but the disappointment of the race was Sant Elena who tracked that rival and didn't find anything like as much as expected when asked to go about her business in the closing stages. She had shaped well on her previous start on the all weather at Lingfield and perhaps a return journey over seven furlongs could see her in a better light.
