They were spread right across the track entering the dog-leg but they then split into two groups, with just four electing to keep stands' side, one of that group being the winner CAMISSA.
Back among her own gender after not being disgraced against the colts here two weeks ago, she was kept tight against the stands rail, always to the fore and was three lengths clear entering the final furlong where she was able to maintain her advantage. Connections insisted afterwards that she would be seen to much better effect back on a sound surface but she was thoroughly deserving of this success, given her two sterling efforts to date, and this performance underlined her versatility.
The speedily-bred Baltic Belle, who caught the eye in the preliminaries, also kept far side and, having been prominent throughout, she kept on nicely.
Cassiara proved she could handle cut in the ground when a promising third on her debut and was only collared close home in the far-side group.
Whipcord, who is bred to be better served by much farther in due course, and Our Ruby, who looked as though she'd benefit from this initial outing, were no match for the winner up the stands' rail but kept on well enough.
