Evergreen RED BROOK LAD only just gets this trip, but was given an exemplary ride to make sure he did, with the ground very much to his liking. On this evidence he will once again hold his own in this sort of company, but on a more testing circuit he could struggle to see out this sort of distance.
No Retreat is rated a few pounds higher than the winner from a handicapping point of view and, conversely, he needs more of a test, so this was a promising first effort of the new term.
Coolefind, winner of a point last month, will have to brush up on his jumping as these regulation fences seemed to hinder his chances.
