The course sailed through a morning inspection, but the ground was very much on the fast side with the jockeys reporting it to be quick down the far side. However, times for this meeting would have been slow as the rails on the bends were as far out as possible in order to protect the ground on the inside.

This mares only affair appeared the perfect opportunity for Ben's Turn to keep her unbeaten record in tact, but she was beaten fair and square in the end by HOLLYWOOD, who was making her belatedseasonal bow and having her first try over hurdles. Although the two principals came close together on the run to the line, the winner was on top at the time in any case and this was a fair performance as the pair were well clear of the remainder. She can only go on from here.

The Laying Hen and Milanshan ran their races, but both are obviously nothing out of the ordinary.
