This first leg of the novice hurdle looked to lie between only a handful on what they had shown previously, but recent French import RAFFAELLO settled matters in a matter of strides up the straight and seems a decent recruit. He will be qualified for the EBF Final at Sandown in March but will not be going to the Cheltenham Festival as he, like many of his stablemates, is considered a chaser for the future.
Hill Forts Timmy ran better than of late but has had a few chances in the past. He is slightly flattered to finish so close to the winner but there may be a little race in him in this sort of mood.
Stablemates Great Memories and Fibre Optics shaped with a degree of promise for the future.
Loita Hills is now eligible for a handicap mark and appears the type who may do better in that sphere.
