Although only small, Gods Token showed plenty of guts and determination, jumping back into the lead at the last to see off the challenge of Neveesou. He has taken quite a hike in the weights recently and is due to go up by a further 6lb tomorrow. The way he won here suggests there may be a bit more left in the tank yet.
Neveesou looked like taking this comfortably when moving smoothly up to challenge at the top of the home straight. He hit the last when tiring and would have to put up a vastly improved effort to be competitive, if he were to take up one of his engagements at the Festival.
Monte Cinto probably needed this run on his return and, after being kept wide in pursuit of better ground down the back straight, weakened five out and was soon beaten.
