QUEEN'S DANCER, a middle-of-the-road handicapper on the Flat for Mick Channon, ran away with this on her hurdling debut, value for more than the bare form.
She lost her prominent place running downhill into the back straight and needed some pushing along, but she cruised ahead around the home turn on the wide outside and did not have to be ridden right out from the last. This was a taking performance, albeit in a race restricted to her sex and therefore not a strong event, but she should win more good races on this display and certainly get further.
Wee Dinns kept on well for second despite diving left over the second-last but never scented the winner. She looks to be going the right way.
Little Venus did not have the pace to go with the principals off the home bend but plugged on. Diplomatic Daisy ran a shade better than the bare form as she moved up smoothly round the outside with the third and looked a possible runner-up until hitting the second-last hard and losing momentum. She was not given a hard time in weakening from there and can be placed to advantage on a less testing track.
Cultured was reported to have lost her action.
