Flipando has run a splendid race from a bad draw, coping with all but the winner. He has not won since September 2004 but surely he will soon end that blank sequence.
Kings Quay is another not to have won since 2004 and he had not fared too well on his two previous appearances this term. But this was a much improved performance even though he would probably appreciate an easier surface.
Granston was another to have run a good race despite a bad draw and he is in good heart this term.
Hartshead made progress on the outside without looking as if could get into serious contention but it was a promising enough first run of the campaign.
Emerald Bay had cried enough a furlong or so out, but he is not one to write off by any means.
