Countdown, who has been running on the all-weather, ran a fine race back on turf, but was unable to trouble the decisive winner.
Efistorm, another lacking nothing in fitness, shaped well and was first home on the stands' side.
Pomfret Lad showed plenty of dash.
The lightly raced Big Hassle is open to improvement, as is Divine Spirit, who has slipped to a good mark.
