HARRINGAY, finally off the mark at Ludlow last time, showed a decent attitude under pressure to repel the runner-up and score all-out under her penalty. She needed all of her rider's urgings to get to the front in the straight, but this track would have been plenty sharp enough for her, and she is probably slightly better than the bare form suggests.
The recent application of a tongue tie has clearly worked the oracle, and while she will find life tougher under a double penalty in the future, the mares' division lacks strength at present and she ought to go well in her quest for the hat-trick.
Makeabreak went down with all guns blazing and improved on the level of her recent hurdling debut for connections. She got this longer trip well enough and, considering she was nicely clear of the rest, she should be placed to go one better in this sphere before long.
Anna Panna turned in a brave effort from the front and only tired out of things approaching the final flight. She improved for this stiffer test and now has the option of handicaps.
Fountain Crumble failed to really improve for this step up in distance, but would have found this ground plenty soft enough.
