Barton Legend looked sure to play a leading role, and looked the winner jumping two out. He just led over the last but was run out of it in the closing stages. He's consistent and should get his head in front again soon.
Caged Tiger's fourth-placed effort in a bumper on his debut at Carlisle meant he was entitled to consideration, but that event was in March 2004. Had he not lacked for fitness, he could well have won this. He ran a cracker to be third, and will obviously improve.
