UMBRELLA MAN soared away with this, going clear when asked after the third-last, to impressively have the race won off the home bend. He galloped strongly to the line and looks to have put his problems behind him. The handicapper had hit him with an 11lb rise for his Southwell win, when stepping up to this trip, and his future will depend how the official figures out this fine follow-up. This impressive-looking individual looks capable of taking a step up in grade and reportedly bounced off this better ground to suggest a productive spring.
Dickensbury Lad helped set the steady early pace and rallied for his third second placing in a row. The better ground looked to suit and this promising young novice should be winning sooner rather than later.
Lulumar was settled at the back, popping his fences well, but he could never land a telling blow. He looks to be coming down to a realistic mark, having been out of his depth in better races.
