No strength in depth to this Hunter chase, run over a specialist distance for the division, and it saw SPRING MARGOT come home to score as he pleased and record his third success from his last four outings. The drop in trip proved no problem, he put the race to bed when shooting clear approaching the turn for home, and really is a different class to these rivals. Further success looks assured in this sphere, but his stamina beyond 2m 4f remains a worry.

Coole Glen, runner-up in this even last year and who came here on the back of a success at Cheltenham last time, was firmly put in his place by the winner when it mattered and proved a little disappointing. He is at home over this sort of trip and could be given another chance when reverting tofaster ground in due course.

Gue Au Loup, fourth between the flags 12 days previously, plugged on at his own pace and never figured. He is regressing fast.
