But, as was the case two seasons back, he did not look all that keen under pressure, flashing his tail and edging right when shown the whip, but he was still good enough to see off this field.
The real test for him will come when he has to compete in handicap class and it remains to be seen how he fares in that tougher competition.
Irish import Starling, last seen racing over 1m2f at Clonmel, could never get competitive over this trip and judgement is best reserved on her for now.
