A moderate event which ultimately produced a duel between STAR TROOPER and Munaawesh, with the former getting on top close home. A horse whose losing run had stood at 30 before this outing, the winner knows more about racing than most and, consquently, is an unreliable customer.

Munaawesh, who went clear going to the second-last, still had a healthy advantage at the final flight but was starting to idle and - allowed to lose a bit of momentum by his rider and faced by the uphill finish - was worn down near the finish. This looked to be an opportunity missed, but a similar race should come his way.
