It was won by hot favourite GRAIN OF TRUTH, but she certainly did not win easily, with her victory being much more workmanlike than anything else.
A beautifully bred filly, she ran a fair race on her only start at two, and on this her three-year-old debut she pulled clear alongside Tasjeel, although she didn't travel on the bridle for as long as the runner-up and also took a while to get on top.
To be fair to her, though, she is still very much on the green side and can only improve, so she will be of interest in a handicap before connections presumably try to secure some black type, perhaps over a mile and a half, which might be more her trip.
Takanewa ran a pleasing race from the front for a stable returning to form, while Cheviot Heights was putting in some good late work and should do better now handicapped, as should Bollin Dolly.
Blessings Count is far from useless and will derive benefit from another run.
