PEPPERTREE LANE showed promise on both starts as a two-year-old, and confirmed that with a game effort, quickening up well and just holding the persistent challenge of the runner-up. He'll stay further, and should progress.
Font had also shaped well on his only start last season, and well though he ran here, he wasn't quite as streetwise as the winner, tending to wander about a little in the closing stages, and just being denied in a driving finish. It'll be a surprise if he can't pick up a maiden before going on to better things, and he's very much one to bear in mind next time.
Further back, the newcomer Prince Egor ran as though he will come on for the run.
