They finished rather more in a bunch than is normally seen in a field of inexperienced juveniles. However, MAJOR THIRD, having his second run, left a favourable impression with an all-the-way success, striding out well in the closing stages to hold on to his advantage. He is a good stamp of horse with a deal of scope.
Fractured Foxy had a couple of runs behind her and ran another decent race, keeping on well, but finding the winner too good.
Flamestone had only one behind him on his debut, but he showed the benefit of that experience with a much improved effort.
Riotous showed inexperience early on, but he was getting the hang of things in the closing stages and kept on well.
There was money for Luscivious and, having been eased inside from his stands' rail draw, took a while to really find his stride. He made ground from half way but never looked like being able to get in a serious blow, but he is another decent type who will improve from this.
La Vecchia Scola and the winner's stable companion Laguna Reef were not beaten far and in light of only four lengths or so covering the first eight, it will be interesting to see how the form pans out.
