Il Castagno took them along and he stuck to his task well despite hanging left to see off all but the winner.
Suits Me, having his first run for his new stable never looked like being able to get to the first two, but he kept on and, on this evidence, a step up to a mile and a quarter would suit.
Ayam Jantan was soon prominent, but was held when he was carried left by Piano Player over a furlong out. However, it was his first run for 230 days and there should be better to come.
Malech missed the break and never got into it.
