Analyis of the race

A pretty competitive handicap, which is likely to throw up a host of future winners.

PARIS BELL, who, not for the first time, missed the break, came through strongly to lead inside the final furlong and gain a narrow success. In the past, he had shown a liking for softer ground, but he handled this surface well enough.

Tanforan came from off the pace to almost run down the winner close home after being hampered. This was his first run back on grass and he should soon be winning.

Titinius, who was 4lb out of the handicap, and who was badly hampered, ran well, dropped back to sprinting. It may well prove that this is his optimum trip.

Sir Nod made a bright start to the campaign, while Trojan Flight was stopped in his run at a crucial stage before staying on well close home; he should be kept on the right side with David Chapman guiding his progress.

Danzig River ran an encouraging race, Mr Wolf showed plenty of dash before weakening, while Brigadore was in the process of running a decent race when he was badly hampered over a furlong out.
