That said, this may not have been a vintage running and they went only a fairpace, with the runner-up allowed to dictate affairs up front steal a march on the field, so that DUBAI'S TOUCH did well to get up close home for the narrowest of victories, having been waited with behind his stable-companion so as not to overdo things early on. He has improved on top-of-the-ground in each of his last two starts and has further progress in him, though he is reportedly set for a break now.
As One Does raced in touch but was pushed along in the straight and could find only one pace - this was a fair effort but he had been able to dominate when winning on an easier surface at Hamilton and may be better with more give in the ground. Debutant Craig Y Nos dwelt at the start and was always behind.
