A much steadier pace helps explain the big time differential to the first division, although the rain continued to fall and the ground had been opened up. Like the first division there was little strength in depth.

TEMOIN made a pleasing winning debut, showing inexperience to suggest he can improve on the bare form. A middle-distance winner on the Flat, Temoin sat with the pace and, despite being careful over a couple of his hurdles, he quickened up well after the last to win with some authority.

Glimmer Of Light looked a big danger when ranging up in the back straight and was still edging it into the last as the winner ran around as he was shaken up. He finished nicely clear of the rest to suggest improvement from a modest hurdling debut.

Inn For The Dancer was reported to have made a noise.

Can Can Flyer was reported unsuited by the ground.
