A race without much strength in depth. ALRIGHT NOW M'LAD, a big chasing type, settled well off the strong pace set by Josear, who had Cruise Director tailing him, well clear of the rest. He made smooth progress downhill in the back straight and was not extended to gallop past the tired front-runners to win with considerably more in hand than the bare margin. This was a first glimpse of form but this six-year-old looks sure to go on improving when facing fences.
Josear, outclassed in the Finale Juvenile Hurdle, deserves plenty of credit here under his penalty, having set a strong pace and he saw off all bar the winner to lead home the juvenile runners, overturning previous form with Equilibria.
They were both tired two out which does not say much for the rest, of whom both Equilibria and Mystery Lot did their chances no good in this ground by racing too keenly early.
Haloo Baloo was reported to have never been travelling.
Flamand was reported unsuited by the ground.
