What A Vintage had a penalty for her recent win over the course and distance on her hurdling debut. She took closer order down the far side for the last time and had every chance, but simply met a better rival.
New Mischief had been off the track more than a year and his absence showed, because he was keen early on and made a tired mistake at the second-last. He'll improve for this and ought to win a similar race before too long.
*David Crosse reported that Cruising Clyde was never travelling.
