He had run two creditable races since joining his current yard, but before that his record was distinctly patchy and this was his first win since 2002.
Moustique de L'Isle stays well, didn't seem inconvenienced by this quicker ground and ran a decent race to finish third, ahead of Ta Ta For Now, who was 8lb out of the handicap, and Metal Detector, who didn't seem to stay.
