A good gallop and a comprehensive win by KEY PHIL, who travelled strongly just off the pace, and drew clear in the straight to win easily. He was certainly good value for his success, and this was despite his trainer's fears about the ground. He'll be interesting if turning out with a penalty as the handicapper is likely to hit him hard for this.

South Bronx goes well on the ground, but he could only stay on without getting to the winner. Gone Too Far has shown his best form over 2m, and he faded from three out, likewise Polyphon, who came into the race in good form, but after racing up with the pace, faded in the straight and two miles is his trip. Terre de Java made mistakes early on and never featured.
