RAISE THE HEIGHTS was the pick of the paddock but had previously tarnished his chances by dwelling in the stalls, but he displayed no such tendency today and having travelled nicely on the outside of the field he drew upsides the pace-setters at the three-pole. Sent about his business he picked up nicely down the centre of the track to stay on strongly and hold off the late challenge of Hits Only Life.
He seemed much better suited by this test than the sharp turns of Lingfield and having been awarded a mark of 58 on the premise of three poor efforts at that venue, he could easily have much more to offer than his mark implies.
Hits Only Life was well down the field with three furlongs to travel but despite hanging left up the straight, finished best of all and was the only one to throw down a serious challenge to the winner in the closing stages. He clearly possesses plenty of ability but he doesn't look one to trust implicitly.
Changiz weakened after helping to set a decent early gallop while Persian Conqueror plugged on from off the pace but looks modest at best.
Dean McKeown reported that Hits Only Life was unsuited by the soft, good to soft in places ground.
D Kinsella reported that Changiz hung right throughout.
