Feelin Irie went off far too quickly and it was a shrewd move by BRADDOCK's jockey Paul Fessey to reign his mount back after breaking well, and let the leader tear off.

Sat some five to six lengths off the leader in a clear second, Braddock was left in front just past the three furlong marker as the leader capitulated. Although never putting any serious amount of daylight between himself and the pack, he responded gamely to pressure and was driven out to hold off Rebellious Spirit.

The winner had proved that cut in the ground when readily landing a Southwell maiden on heavy ground on debut and a mark of 65 for his handicap debut seemed potentially interesting in a race where so many of his rivals were exposed as modest. He continued the excellent form of his yard and can continue to improve with experience as the handicapper can hardly be too severe on him for this.

Rebellious Spirit saw this new trip out really well, finishing to good effect, and lost little in defeat. He can find asmall race on this evidence but he's always going to be vulnerable to something with potential.

Air Biscuit, another making his handicap debut after showing little as a juvenile, looked a potential danger two-out, travelling well enough on the heels of the eventual winner, but he lacked the turn of foot to go on and could only plug on at one pace.

Davidia weakened close home after being prominent early but still managed to finish clear of the remainder, all of whom will find success hard to come by at any level on this evidence.
