Analyis of the race

A weak contest run at a steady pace as well but not too many hard luck stories.

SPHINX, freshened up after an 88-day break from the all-weather, won in some style, always travelling well and he could have taken the race apart at any stage up the straight but his rider waited until the final furlong and as such he is value for more than the bare margin. The fitting of blinkers looks the key but as a 12-furlong performer he had more pace than some of these plodders as well.

Dhehdaah has beenin winning form over hurdles and carried it through here back on turf to suggest he is back off a winning mark. He could have done with a stronger all-round pace as he was staying on stoutly on favourably soft ground.

Patrixprial did well under his big weight but was another going nowhere two furlongs out in the pack before staying on strongly suggesting he needs a sterner test of pace over this his winning trip.

Bollin Thomas and Sabbiosa had every chance but Count Boris deserves rating better than the bare form as he was squeezed out going into the last three furlongs and while he kept on when in the clear down the midtrack in the final furlong he could not land a blow. He also hung left.

Street Life hugged the inside rail and made a promising move three furlongs out before his stamina gave out.

Celtic Carisma was reported to have hung right/
