All of these had an exposed look about them but HEVER ROAD seems to have turned over a new leaf as he followed up his recent Exeter win, having spent the rest of the season looking as if he was not interested in getting his head in front. The better ground appears to have helped him and, despite his customary sloppy jump mid-race, he collected with a little bit in hand. There could well be another race in him at this time of year.

Koquelicot and the winner came well clear so the form seems pretty solid in the context of this race. He is gradually slipping down the handicap but remains hard to win with.

Baloo, switching back to fences, seems to save his best for the summer months.

Spring Grove has dropped to a reasonable mark but is an in-and-out character these days.
