ILLUMINISE left behind her only start of last year to show a fine turn of foot to run down good yardstick Edaara. She won despite not looking happy running downhill before running on strongly uphill in the final furlong. Connections will take their time and find a Listed contest in the summer which might be optimistic on this bare form but she is obviously progressive.
Edaara, who was held up in her previous two placings, raced handy throughout and momentarily looked like clearing away downhill inside the final two furlongs. She has done little wrong and looked a picture but is proving expensive to follow.
Pirouetting's placing also does little for the strength of the form and she deserves extra credit for cutting out her own running against the stands' rail before staying on stoutly for pressure in the final furlong.
Adventuress led home the newcomers and took the eye as she was slowly away but did some strong running in the final two furlongs to suggest she should win her maiden for this experience.
Another newcomer Uno caught the eye as she was covered up having been free early but when pulled out to see daylight late, she stayed on takingly befitting a filly whose pedigree suggests a mile to ten furlongs is her optimum.
Musical Magicwas another newcomer to shape with promise as she was initially left on her own midtrack as the field split but was then tucked away on the inside-rail group before doing some good late running to suggest she can step up on the bare form when facing a little further.
Roe Briar was another who was slowly away, but on the stands' side. She ran green when put under pressure but was getting the hang of it late to suggest improvement to come. (BJ)
