A run-of-the-mill novice handicap in which RUBBERDUBBER looked fairly treated despite top-weight and overcame a mark 10lb higher than that which applied when he made his successful chasing debut in another handicap here. Having jumped to the front four out he was always in command, but he wouldn't have won so decisively if the runner-up had jumped better. He is not qualified for his two Cheltenham engagements, but he may be seen again if he comes out of this well and the ground doesn't get too quick.

Lord On The Run made mistakes at the second, the fifth-last and again two out, and he was also inclined to go left late on. None was a major blunder, but the combined effect must have been significant. Unfortunately he will go up again for this.
