MADISON DU BERLAIS has proved a good buy from France and completed his hat-trick in ready fashion under a patient ride. He was 13lb higher here than when initiating the hat-trick at Market Rasen, but he is still farfrom certain to get into any Festival handicap.
Bonus Bridge, who has no Cheltenham entries, had been pulled up on both previous appearances here but shaped better this time, staying on to take second on the run-in after losing his place towards the end of the back straight and making mistakes at the cross fence and the next. He is on a decent mark, and his jumping was better overall than it has been, following a spell with Mary Bromiley. He won't be aimed too high and could be placed to advantagenow.
Gazump trailed the field for much of the way but ran on for fourth when the race was over.
Glengarra chased the leader for much of the way and had a chance.
Lorient Express continues to look in the grip of the Handicapper now, although he would have been closer but for a mistake at the cross fence.
