This looked a decent juvenile novice hurdle on paper but an incident at the first robbed it of some of its competitive edge when Prize Fighter was brought down.
DETROIT CITY had disappointed connections on his hurdles debut last time but left that run way behind with a resolute success which puts him back on target for the Triumph Hurdle. His Warwick effort remains unexplained except that the sticky ground may have found him out but, whatever the reason, he did little wrong here and will be of interest under a penalty.
Royals Darling had finished third in a Listed hurdle in France on his final outing there and looks to have a future hereas it was no disgrace to go under to a back-to-form winner while finishing well clear of the rest. He has every right to come on for this outing and is certain to win races.
Jack Rolfe had won on the all-weather but was nothing out of the ordinary on the Flat but he should derive benefit for this hurdles debut run.
Estate is the type who could do better when handicapped after one more outing.
