SIR HAYDN goes well on the Polytrack and this narrow win, off his highest mark yet, made it three wins and four places from nine appearances at Lingfield, in addition to which he has also won at Wolverhampton. His stable is in great form and he should continue to give a good account.
Eastborough has not won off a mark this high for more than four years, but he has a good Polytrack record. He had to be switched inside for his effort and never quite got to the front.
His stablemate Zalkani, a real Polytrack specialist but now on a long losing run, travelled well and enjoyed better luck in running than is often the case, but having made smooth headway to have every chance through thefinal furlong he didn't quite have enough pace.
Just Fly would have been closer but for being short of room in the closing stages, but he was held at the time.
Further back Libre was going all right on the outside when he stumbled approaching 2f out, while El Chaparral lost any chance when running wide on the bend, his rider then more or less standing up in the stirrups and allowing him to coast in.
