Cherokee Nation, another tumbling down the ratings, was back to his right sort of trip. He looked a possible winner but with Stoic Leader edging out across him, he did not need a second invitation to hang around. He showed he has dropped to a tasty mark in finishing nicely clear of the rest.
Hard To Catch got outpaced into the home turn before rallying, which was slightly surprising for a six-furlong winner.
Glad Big was one of the sufferers on the home turn in being pushed more than halfway off the track. He did not help his rider by then hanging left under the whip but still stayed on steadily. He has obviously had his share of problems, being so lightly raced, but showed enough here to suggest he can win a race. He was later reported to have lung left.
Tuscarora did not see a lot of daylight late on and deserves rating a shade better than the bare form, but Cormorant Wharf looked a hard ride with his own ideas. The latter was reported to have hung badly right.
Hey Presto ran better than the bare form as he was pushed along to go the pace at the back but was making some ground when having to swing widest into the straight - the situation was accepted.
Ivory Lace was reported to have suffered interference on the final bend.
