Kasumi deserves plenty of credit as this was her belated debut. She looked to know her job well enough and kept battling away to hold the pack at bay after chasing the winner into the straight.
Salisbury World tooka very keen hold at the back but stayed on steadily without being knocked around on this third run to qualify for handicaps.
Questive was best placed up front off a steady pace and ran well enough for a colt bred to need considerably further.
Airbuss left money in the satchels again and this big colt did not show enough to suggest the money has only been lent.
The stewards inquired into the running of Airbuss and noted the explanation of connections, who reported the instruction had been to hold him up as too much use had been made of him on his debut. The rider reported the colt was unsuited to the slow pace and track and, in his opinion, needed a longer trip. The trainer's representative reported the colt had run in snatches.
