The fact that the 76-rated ABSTRACT ART was sent of an 8-15 favourite for this maiden was a clear indication of the little strength in depth among the opposition. The market got it right though he never looked in any danger, making all the running and putting the race to bed when quickening away 2f out. He was eased close home so is value for a bit more than the winning margin but this wasn't a strong race and it remains to be seen if he can be competitive of his new mark.

Sky High Guy showed more promise after missing the break over this course and distance on his debut in November. Breaking away on terms here, he got slightly outpaced when the winner quickened away but gradually found his stride and was staying on best of all at the finish. He looks sure to win a race and he shapes as though the step up to a mile and half could see him pull out at a bit more.

Henry Holmes pulled six lengths clear of the remainder and built on his modest maiden effort here recently where he was slowly away. He was clearly suited by the step up to this kind of trip but unless he can build on this next time will need to be found an extremely weak race.
