An ordinary claimer and, with the clear ratings choice Biscar Two running a moody race (his rider reported that the gelding was lame, and that was confirmed by the vet) it took even less winning.

ROJABAA finished well behind Biscar Two here last time, but that was over half a mile further, and the drop back to the minimum distance appeared to suit him well. He travelled nicely throughout and, when asked to go on at the final flight, pulled readily clear. A fairly consistent performer, he should continue to go well at a modest level.

Blackthorn, a winner of a seller here in December, likes to make the running and clearly goes well at this track. He ran a fair race in defeat.

Barella ran better than his finishing position suggests, as he was involved in an incident on the home turn when Richard Gordon, riding It's My Story, took the wrong course, making the error of directing his mount to the chase course straight. Barella was badly hampered and Tinian was taken out of the race completely by the manoeuvre.

Native Commander who stopped quickly on his reappearance last month, once again promised more than he delivered, suggesting a problem.
