A decent prize for this novices' chase attracted a couple of interesting runners, and they fought out the finish.

BILLYVODDAN, under a 10lb penalty, again raced and jumped with enthusiasm, and that enabled him to hold off the strong finish of Reveillez. He is entered in both the Arkle and Royal and SunAlliance chases at the Festival and will also be entered in the Jewson Novices' Handicap, and is likely to go there but may have a run in between.

Reveillez was not quite as fluent as the winner at his fences, but looked to be travelling best in the straight. He was unable to get past the winner but lost little in defeat and is sure to win races, especially on better ground, although connections may opt to preserve his novice status until nextseason by switching him back to hurdles.

Keepthedreamalive ran another good race against useful opponents, but has not got the pace to trouble good novices over this trip and may well appreciate stepping up to three miles.

Mythical King, having only his second outing over the bigger obstacles, ran well enough and would have finished closer but for making a mess of the second last.
