Desert Lord and Magic Glade paid late and in the circumstances the former deserves plenty of credif for clinging on to third.
NATIVE TITLE was all set for the sales having lost his way last year, but dropped to win a claimer last time he looks to have got some self-respect back. He was slowly away and crossed to the rail, travelling well to come between rivals to record back-to-back successes. He had been tumbling down the ratings and still has some leeway as this narrow win can hardly see him punished. He has also shown goodform over six so has done well to win this and connections are keen to keep making use of his present wellbeing, with the gallops at home saturated.
Nothing else threatened to land a blow, although Zarzu ran well enough from a disadvantageous draw, staying on when it was all over.
Piccled refused to leave the stalls withthe field and was officially reported to the Jockey Club as it was his third such refusal to race in the last 12 months.
