Analyis of the race

The leaders went too fast here, with Titus Wonder and favourite Rebellious Spirit at each other right from the start, and although the pair were still a couple of lengths clear going to the final furlong, the pack were closing and the writing was on the wall for them. They were swallowed up near the finish and were fifth and seventh respectively, albeit in a blanket finish which saw all the first seven covered by just a length and a half.

Lightly raced AVENLEA, never previously closer than sixth, appreciated the fast pace and shorter trip and got to the front in the last 100 yards.

Bahhmirage was staying on in sixth.
