LUDOVICO was 10lb higher than when making a successful handicap debut at Southwell last month, but he is improving and won again, albeit very narrowly in the end. Having improved around the outside on the turn, he took his time shaking off Rebellion and then only just held on from Porters, but he is still inexperienced and can go on again from here, as he is a nice type and is growing up fast.
Porters was dropping back a furlong after winning at a mile a week previously. He had work to do after getting involved in the incident that saw Bucharest lose any chance when shuffled right back over two furlongs out , but when switched right for his effort he finished best, only just failing. A return to a mile obviously won't hurt, but he is obviously effective at this trip.
Creative Mind, making her all-weather debut, was also going on at the finish, having been short of room on the inside approaching the two-furlong marker. She'll come on for this first run in almost two months.
Rebellion was allowed his own way when winning at Lingfield last time, but Bucharest took him on here, and when he was squeezed out the winner was there on the outside to replace him. He made Ludovico work to get past him, but weakened and lost three places inside the final furlong.
