That said, last year's Solario third ASSET is held in high regard and could hardly have been more impressive, so one certainly wouldn't want to be ruling him out of Guineas calculations ifthe going there is on top, especially as he won by a street-length at Yarmouth the only time he had his ground last year and has always worked like a class act.
Soon recovering from a slow start, he travelled well on the inside throughout and could benamed the winner long before Richard Hughes pressed the button well before the furlong pole. He settled the issue in strides and was soon clear, yet Hughes reported he was doing nothing in front. Fast ground is regarded crucial to his Guineas chance, andRichard Hannon would think twice about running him in the unlikely event of it coming up soft. However, he is an attractive 33-1 with Ladbrokes (shorter elsewhere) and there would be worse bets at those sort of odds.
Royal Power had solid juvenileform, including a Leopardstown second to Dylan Thomas. Having been held up at the back he initially looked inclined to hang right towards the inside rail, but when angled back out to the left he ran on respectably, without having the slightest chance with the winner. His best chances may lie abroad.
Kingsgate Prince has enjoyed a tremendous run of success over six and seven furlongs at Lingfield, including in a Listed race on his latest start. The penalty for that win and the longer trip were the worries here, but in the event he spoiled his chance by pulling too hard in the early stages when they weren't going quick enough for him. Chased along in rear into the straight and then under pressure before the two-furlong marker, he made some headway but then his effort flattened out. He will be suited by a return to shorter.
Luberon had a stiff task and was left behind after setting just a modest pace. Campbeltown, trounced by Asset at Yarmouth, was no certainty to appreciate this longer trip. Minor interference approaching the furlong marker didn't make any difference, as he had been under pressure and struggling from soon after the turn.
