Trans Sonic looks to have come back stronger this year and as such could have further improvement, although this win is likely to necessitate a step up in class.
Namid Reprobate was the only one able to sit comfortably with the strong pace set by the winner and he looked a big danger all the way up the straight as he edged closer but he tired in the final strides on this seasonal return against a race-fit rival. As such he loses nothing in defeat and should soon make amends, although a strongly-run mile may be plenty far enough for him.
Hill Of Almhuim, whose form has been on softish ground on turf, got badly outpaced and did well to finish as close as he did, running on stoutly from a hopeless position at the end of the back straight. The worry is that he started last year a winner before looking regressive by the backend but the positive side is that he ran a stronger race over this longer trip suggesting he has progressed over the winter.
