He was weak last year but looks to have strengthened up physically and mentally and can win better races with his turn of foot.
Red Diadem set thetempo and kept battling away, probably improving on her debut effort last October, suggesting she will be winning her maiden sooner rather than later.
Magic Rush, making a belated racecourse debut at the age of four and conceding a stone to the winner, ran a race of promise. He was very green through the race, swerving left out of the stalls and then having to race widest out in the pack. He still laid down a strong challenge inside the final two furlongs before again swerving left under pressure. If he learns from the experience he should soon be winning.
Zambezi River was chopped off going into the bend at the end of the back straight when towards the rear.
Magic Rush was reported to have hung left.
