Presumptive came from behind to challenge against the inside rail and had his chance. He simply ran into a well-treated winner and should be placed to advantage before too long.
Binanti, 4lb higher than when winning here on the opening day, ran well again in this better race. So too did his stable-mate Desert Dreamer, although he seemed to struggle to go the pace on this first run in six months and was never quite getting there.
Trifti was running on, but King's Caprice weakened quickly after taking too keen a hold.
Pinchbeck had a troubled passage and is a bit better than the bare form, but much more eye-catching was the effort of Ex-French Marajaa, who was held up at the back from the worst draw of all but was making good headway when he found himself with nowhere to go and had to be snatched up approaching the furlong pole. An unknown quantity, he can be rated a lot better than this and looks a bargain for his new connections.
