JUSTCALLMEHANDSOME evidently hadn't gone a yard when fancied with Eddie Ahern on board at Southwell eight days previously, but he had won for a female rider in claiming company and the combination of a girl apprentice and a 3f step up in trip did the trick again here. In front from the start, he enjoyed himself and held on well. Whether he will repeat the form remains to be seen.
Good Article, another who likes to race prominently and was second at Wolverhampton last week, was also up there all of the way and ran his race again.
The pack finished in something of a heap, headed by Hiawatha, who kept on after being wide into the straight, Indigo Sky and Pharaoh Prince. All three of them have been in reasonable form at a low level lately.
