| An all-the-way win for ex-German AUENMOON, who strode clear off the home turn to score in good style and looks the sort to go on now he has become acclimatised. The gelding had decent winning form on the Flat in his home country, jumps well and handles testing ground, so his trainer is likely to want to strike again quickly before the weather turns and the ground dries out. Double Vodka was given a patient ride, moving through to chase the winner approaching two out, but he was under pressure and well held when fluffing the final hurdle, after which he could make no impression. Great Approach made mistakes and jumped badly right at the final flight, but he stayed on well up the hill and could improve with time, while Dawn Devoy also made stealthy progress in the final half-mile. He was bumped by Great Approach at the last and kept on under a sympathetic ride on this return from a lengthy layoff.
